…it’s time to rise

irise yoga + wellness creates safe spaces that center BIPOC and other marginalized communities in supporting their wellness journey. By combining the intersections between social and transformative justice irise yoga + wellness reframes our understanding of what wellness is and who wellness is for.  Through our yoga classes, wellness experiences, and community conversations we empower BIPOC and other marginalized communities to prioritize not only their self-care, but to also reclaim Indigenous healing practices and cultivate space for individual and collective wellbeing. We believe that achieving true wellness is about finding balance and creating inclusive spaces for everyone. Our mission is to cultivate a community of like-minded people who connect the importance of their self-care and wellbeing to all aspects of their lives so that they can live a more balanced life and thrive.

“redefining wellness for everyone”

vision.

Our vision is to support individual and collective wellbeing of BIPOC and other marginalized communities so that they can thrive.

why we rise.

Everyone has the right to be well. We believe that wellness should be accessible, diverse, inclusive and equitable.

Everyone has the right to belong. We believe that wellness should harness the power of community.

Everyone has the right to heal. We believe that wellness should incorporate our insectionalities and individual and collective trauma.

Rebeckah aims to build a community where equity and inclusion are embedded in all aspects of her work, please note, she centers the usage of an inclusion rider in her collaborations.

An initiative conceived and developed by Rebeckah Price the Well Being Collective @Hart House (University of Toronto) is a collaborative initiative that seeks to explore wellness while centering and highlighting the experiences and practices of Indigenous, Black, and Racialized students as well as those of the greater community.

The Collective is about creating space for Indigenous, Black, and Racialized people to explore wellness from a lens that centres their particular experiences, voices, and knowledge as a diverse community.
